FROM THE MINBAR OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES IN MAKKAH AND MADINA (Friday, January 31, 2003) Islam usher in peace and security for the world: Imam of Makkah’s Grand Mosques IN MAKKAH The Imam and Khateebs of the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madina, in their Friday Sermons urged Muslims to be always conscious of Allah Almighty and refrain from anything that displeases Him, especially during the Haj period which should be devoted to worship and being kind to fellow Muslims. The Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosques,Sheikh Dr Abdul Rahman Al Sudais,in his sermon spoke about the importance of security in the life of human beings. He Said, “Mankind since ancient times has longed for safe and secure life, but modern life which had made unprecedented material and industrial progress had not ensured tranquil and peaceful life that man desperately needs, until the light of Islam dawned on the universe with assurances of peace and security,Muslims, during these days (of Haj) converge on Makkah and (other)Holy sites, which Allah has consecrated as the abodes of peace and security,” “Makkah and the Holy sites (in its vicinity) enjoy full security and anybody who resides in these places is secure, while,in many parts of the world, people suffer insecurity due to wars, terrorism and crimes (against humanity).Security in the Holy land is not confined to man alone:for it extends to animals, plants and property. “Aren’t all these evidences enough (to illustrate that) Islam (lays) maximum stress on human rights? (And that) it is a religion of mercy, justice and peace?” He asked. “The sanctity and security of the Holy lands are everlasting: since the time of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail, peace be on them, until the Day of Judgment.Protected by Allah, Makkah shall always remain a bastion of true monotheistic religion and an oasis of peace and security. “(Preserving) the sanctity of the two Harams and refraining from anything that disturbs their security is a (deep rooted) belief of (Muslims) that can never be altered at any time.As such it is the duty of believers to preserve them and keep them secure, especially at a time, when seditions and turbulence (are rife) all around. “The Muslim Ummah is being targeted by overt and covert conspiracies of the enemies such as the Zionists whose evil actions in Palestine, and (their onslaught) against the Al Aqsa Mosque, the third Holiest place of Islam, are (clear) indication of arrogance and terrorism.Allah who protects the Holy Ka’ba and the two Harams, shall also protect Al Aqsa Mosque from evil machinations,” Sheikh Al Sudais stressed. He called on the pilgrims to follow the example of their worthy ancestors in the veneration of the Holy land and help maintain its security and tranquility by cooperating with the security officials. IN MADINA The Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque,Sheikh Abdul Bari Al Thubaiti,in his sermon said, pilgrims in great multitude have come to this land to fulfill a religious obligation that started during the time of Prophet Ibrahim (Sallallaaho alaihi wa sallam) thousands of years ago,” and they will continue to do so as long as there is human life on earth. The congregation of believers, who have come here from all parts of the world,in one place is an illustration of the fact that the Ummah despite all conspiracies and plots being contrived against it – will always triumph and remain united by its faith. As the pilgrims converge on the Holy sites,it is the duty of the people of the county to welcome them and provide all services, facilities and assistance to them, and make their stay here a comfortable and memorable one.” Quoting Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaaho alaihi wa sallam) Sheikh Thubaiti said,‘A perfect Haj has no other reward but Paradise,’every step a pilgrim takes, he gets rewarded for it. “Pilgrimage should be performed purely (with the intention of) pleasing Allah and not for showing off to people or to earn praise and admiration of other people. “A pilgrim must demonstrate humility before his Lord, strictly follow the example of the Prophet (Sallallaaho alaihi wa sallam)while performing the (Haj) rituals and never miss out a ritual,to ensure that his pilgrimage is performed in a perfect manner.Haj is a great act of worship, which is performed at the most sacred places. Therefore,it has to be observed with (great) respect. “No wickedness, obscenity or wrangling is allowed (especially) during Haj.Those individuals who use the opportunity of Haj to smuggle in harmful substances, disseminate wrong beliefs or come with the intention of robbing people of their valuables, will be tormented with severe punishment by Allah,” Sheikh Thubaiti said. “A faultless Haj, therefore, can only be attained by strictly obeying the commands of Allah Almighty and His Prophet (Sallallaaho alaihi wa sallam).Besides, the money spent on undertaking Haj,should have been earned through legitimate means. The pilgrims must spend the Haj days in offering prayers,in supplications and in seeking the forgiveness and mercy of their Lord,” he advised. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THE END^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ With the very best of good wishes, Musa Amadu Pembo Glasgow, Scotland UK. [log in to unmask] Da’wah is to convey the message with wisdom and with good words. We should give the noble and positive message of Islam. We should try to emphasize more commonalities and explain the difference without getting into theological arguments and without claiming the superiority of one position over the other. There is a great interest among the people to know about Islam and we should do our best to give the right message. May Allah,Subhana Wa Ta'Ala,guide us all to His Sirat Al-Mustaqim (Righteous Path).May He protect us from the evils of this life and the hereafter.May Allah,Subhana Wa Ta'Ala,grant us entrance to paradise . We ask Allaah the Most High, the All-Powerful, to teach us that which will benefit us, and to benefit us by that which we learn. May Allaah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala grant blessings and peace to our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions..Amen. _________________________________________________________________ Overloaded with spam?
