Perhaps you should reconsider your conclusion stated as follows - "because i have extensively studied and researched trends in African leadership and came to a conclusion that the very people that are responsible tend not to be the dictators themselves, because they are often one step ahead of the illiterate masses in the educational ladder, but that upper echelon, the highly literate who made it all possible for the leadership to rule which ever way they desired. The unfortunate sons of the continent who rob their own people of the basics of human life." I doubt that the misfortunes of The Gambia or Africa in general can be blamed on an abundant rapacity of the "highly literate." -----Original Message----- From: The Gambia and related-issues mailing list [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of CEDRIC CEBALLOS Sent: Monday, August 04, 2003 9:53 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Open Letter To Gambians Mr. Omari, i disagree with this part of your suggestion, " He also needs someone to help him write what he wants to say. As long as he is the president of The Gambia he must keep his mouth shut and let those who are qualified by education and experience handle what he has shown himself incapable of doing." because i have extensively studied and researched trends in African leadership and came to a conclusion that the very people that are responsible tend not to be the dictators themselves, because they are often one step ahead of the illiterate masses in the educational ladder, but that upper echelon, the highly literate who made it all possible for the leadership to rule which ever way they desired. The unfortunate sons of the continent who rob their own people of the basics of human life. If we could learn a lesson, it would be our failures of selfish worldly pursuits that had happened a gazzilion times since the beginning of time, but we will remain at a state of loss until we return to the very greatest, who controls it all. Then and only then can we make progress. Not the highly educated, because as far as i am concerned, i think a farmer can run that Government and do as good a job as any educated individual since he would be representing not only the people but his own situation. The educated find it so easy to cheat, rob, silenced the uneducated poor. We have been doing it for decades. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
