Following in fighting among junior and senior staff members of Gamtel, the company's MD Abdouraman Mboob has finally got the sacked, sources close to the heart of the Gambian government told me last night. Mboob who was brought to Gamtel by Famara Jatta, had been accused of materminding the arrest of your Gamtel engineers, who were detained at the Mile two Central prisons. The Gamtel engineers were blamed for a major communication break down which hit the tiny west Afican country recently. Mboob's management were said to have written to the police claiming that the black out was due to sobotage perpetrate by the engineers, whom he had been at logger ahead with. Gamtel's staff Association in protest matched to the Vice president's residence demanding for the immediate release of their colleagues. They told the VP that they don't see any justification for the illegal detention of the egineers. The VP according to our sources later convened a meeting with the police, where she ordered for the release of the Gamtel staff. One thing is evident however, Gamtel is now being politicised. The regime is hiring people who are not experienced to handle the job. Most professionals are resigning day by the day. Pro APRC supporters are hell bent on undermining qualified staff. I must point out that mboob was not fit to run Gamtel. He was brought there by Famara Jatta his former boss in order run errands for him. He Fams and others are running a software company called Cube. This company according to sources compelled Gamtel to purchase computers and other software materials from the firm. Most of the time sources say the prices are exorbitant. Mboob is replaced by Omar Ndow. _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
