Mai Fatty was arrested yesterday and subsequently released, the state is questioning his academic credentials as authentic. It is understood that the police are making investigations to establish the allegation, but the whole thing appeared to be politically motivated, it would be recalled that Mai was amongst those that represented the fallen Baba Jobe and his prominence with politically sensitive cases have put him squarely into the eyes of the political storm that is brewing in the Gambia, as it is now it appears that the state have launched a double prongued attack on both the independent legal practitioners as well as the media, hence anyone perceived as a threat will face a dirty tricks campaign. We should not be surprised that there will follow many more allegations that will attempt to question the intergrity of people, however, the Gambia people must remain steadfast and be ready to decipher the lies that are being peddled to discredit peopl, Mai as a young lawyer have been very impressive, he should be given the chance to make mistakes and grow in the process, but to attempt to attack him in the way that is being done is unwarranted. I hope Mais credentials are authentic for he is proving to be potentially a very good advocate. _________________________________________________________________ Want to block unwanted pop-ups?
