There is something that we are always afraid of. why should we keep our voices up if it could lead to our destruction? Fear is a phantom of our imagination, an emotional reaction to a new challenge, job or relationship. Tombong, You are brave to speak up because you are with the motion and perhaps trying to win a heart or be hailed. But, who cares if one's life is at risk when one's voice is uplifted. I know fully well that, the act of creation requires us to take chances,to make mistakes, but not to risk life. How can you risk to take a risk if you fully know the consequences of it. Not to risk means staying within preordained bounds of what has been, never daring to discover what might be, " The culture of silence " is not leading to our failure as a nation. The ability to build on what we know ( peace) and the ability to reach beyond what we know ( stability) to achieve what was once thought impossible is what is pulling us down. As Gambians, We have lost our values, The elders don't take the advices of the youths and leaders think they know more than the intellectuals. Tombong, how would you feel if one of your subordinates summon you for an advice as a CEO? Tombong, I would like you to know that the intellectuals have all right to be silent if they are not respected or seen as obstacles by those in power. Bro, without repect, life is a crazy roller-coaster from one sensational experience to the next. relationships become or remain superficial, and people can become ruthless, using one another as a means to an end. Unless we work together respectfully, the alchemy of cooperation and creativity cannot exist.Without the trust that respect engenders, we will not risk exploring the unknown. The new paradigm of cooperative leadership is impossible without respect and a vision cannot be achieved unless we focus on a clear vision and move forward to reach that goal, intimately aware of how the present moment relate to it. Peace Bro. _________________________________________________________________ Don’t just search. Find.
