IGP Badjie According to our sources, several other people including senior police officers were also taken along in the same wave of high profile arrests. The IGP and co were said to have been arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning and are currently being detained at Mile 2. The Daily Observer was also informed that more people were arrested over the weekend, but up to the time of going to press, their names were not known. The reason of this recent spate of arrest of the police top brass and senior officials is still not known as no official reason has been given. This led to several theories as to the reason for this development. One of such theories spoke of a deal that was uncovered, while another suggested of a problem that arose following a recent public statement about the murder of Deyda Hydara. Sources have indicated that IGP Badjie was spotted around the vicinity of Kotu police station on Friday evening but it is not known what he was there for © Copyright 2003 by Observer Company Top of Page _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar - get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/ ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html To Search in the Gambia-L archives, go to: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/CGI/wa.exe?S1=gambia-l To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
