Sacrifice of black bull’ for Sanna Sabally 6 people in court
Wednesday, January 21, 2009
6 men have fallen into trouble over the alleged sacrifice of a black bull. The bull was said to have been sacrificed so that Sanna B Sabally could come back to The Gambia and overthrew.

The six are currently on trial at the Brikama Magistrates Court. The case is being presided over by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh. The 6 are Nibel Jawo, Omar Jallow, Amadou Kah, Modou Bah, Ansu Jarju and Sulayman Jallow.

According to the facts of the case, in December, the 6 people told a police detective that one Seedy Dem and his people had sacrified a black bull on behalf of Sanna B Sabally but this was latter found to be untrue.

They all denied the accusation and asserted that a black bull was indeed killed. The onus is now on the prosecution to prove that the bull was not sacrificed for the purposes of overthrowing the government as asserted by the accused persons.

Before the case was adjourned, the prosecutor objected to bail for the accused noting that they may abscond. This was overruled by the magistrate who finally granted them bail in the sum of D10,000 each. The case was adjourned to 29 January 2009.
