Dear Mr Sanneh,

Thank you for your email. I just tried to call you on your mobile, and in your room, but there was no answer so I shall email instead.

Thank you also for the alert as to the likelihood of my being contacted by many organistaions wishing to help you in your asylum matter. I can confirm that I have today spoken with Dr Fatty, of the Gambia Moral Congress Party, who has said that he wishes to help in anyway he can. Similarly Bubacarr Jallow and Joe Sambou have emailed to let me know of their support for you. I have also spoken to James Bahoum, Secretary General of the Movement for Restoration of Democracy in Gambia (UK chapter). He advised me that there is a wealth of support among Gambians for you. I advised each of these that I will be in touch with them presently to let them know of the most effective way they can assist.

I have also spoken to Paul Dillane, Refugee Researcher at Amnesty International UK. He has informed me that although they do not campaign on behalf of individulas, they arte willing to have a look at your documents. They may then be able to write a letter confirming the degree of risk you may face on return to Gambia, although they have stressed that they cannot guarantee that they will be able to do so.

In ordeer for Amnesty International to decide whether they can write in support of ypur claim they have asked that I send them copies of your documents (your statement, evidence submitted etc, and your Home Office interview record when this has taken place).

Would you be happy for me to do this?

If so I will forward what I have available to them on Monday.

On Monday I will also contact you to make an appointment for me to visit you at Harmondsworth. We can then talk about the Fast Track system, and the next steps to take in preparing your case.

I look forward to speaking with you son.

Yours sincerely,

Flora Robertson

Folks
Given the fact that I under detention it is only through phone calls I am getting that I found out that my case file is just tranfered from Leeds to West London Office. My lawyer is not Barbara but Flora Robertson. I was told that the head of Amnesty International West Africa desk Paul Dillane (Tel:- 02070331575) is soliciting to work with Flora Robertson and Refugee Legal Centre on my case. I thank you all for your efforts. Special thanks to Saikou Mballow, James Bahoum, Lamin Darboe, Mai Fatty, My loving brother Dave, Ebrima Ceesay, Ansu, Yero,Demba, Suntou, Senegambianews, the list members of Gambia-post and Gambia-l and all I cannot name due to limited access on the net. I acknowledge your e-mails and phone calls and it is what is given me strength and courage at this difficult time. I reflected through your support we have to unite to put an end to this madness folding in our country.

I'm wondering if folks in England , France , Holland and  Germany could organise a peaceful protest in London. What are the chances of  organising a protest in England?
