Funeral service took place today (04/03/09) at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Kanifing Estate and interment was at the Banjul Cemetry. This nationwide disaster council comprised fourteen members and is chaired by Vice President Ajaratou Isatou Njie-Saidy .In his inaugural statements, President Jammeh urged the new council to be proactive and not just about managing disasters but to create public awareness on disaster prevention, reduction and response.
