JDAM:

Boundless optimism is the eternal dream's meadow for all the world's a canvass.

La Guinea and Bissau have common peoples, common dreams and aspirations, and their futures, albeit not readily apparent now, are comprehensively singular. The two peoples have common threats and uniquely common opportunities. Currently, the two peoples have no greater threat in common than the scourge of chemical weapons, a common enemy from without. Even after they both reconstitute their newly elected governments post transition periods, that scourge lingers, to gradually erode these transient reinforcements in their fabrics. The urge for empire is intrinsic in man. What, praytell is Latin America's best hope of such empire? while the EU, UN, ICC, the Commonwealth, and AU dodoline their tetes in search of the culprit tarrying behind them.

I understand there will be clueless folk crying:
But Haruna what about the lingua Franca? (What'll it be? Portuguese, French, Pulaar, Balanta, Susu, Peppel, Mandingo, English, Arabic?)
I say; Why not any of the above or any permutation of the above? Canada lived on both English and French. And Canada is healthy. Cameroon lived on both English and French. And Cameroon retains her myriad languages.

But Haruna what about the currency? (what'll that be? the Guinean Franc, the dollar, the Euro, the French Franc, or some new Guinean currency?)
I say; New Guinean Currency. There is no cultural or traditional value to currency. It is only a means of trading value.

But Haruna what about La Guinea's enormous natural resources and Bissau's paucity of it?
I say; What do you think of natural resources? What more good has that advantage done for La Guinea? And East and West Germany, were they equal in that measure prior?

JDAM, do you dream? I will share a story with you about dreams. Remind me if you wanna hear it my good brother. One of my uncles; Mawdo Jatta, is Gambia's most prolific dreamer and story teller.

Haruna. Let's continue this conversation on the possible source of "my boundless optimism". There is more to reveal. You do know that optimism is listless convulsion when asphyxiated. Be my oxygen will yew? MQJGDT. Darbo.

I suggest advisedly that Guinea Bissau become a semi-autonomous region of La Guinea now, to lead toward total union in 2 years. That the union of the tow Guineas be called simply Guinea, dropping the definite article from the La Guinea. It is the right time now. The United states of GUinea will have one army, navy, airforce, police, and para, with one defense department. A corps of amphibious troops to patrol the longer coastline.

I encourage President Dadis Camara of La GUinea, the interim President of Bissau, President Wade of Senegal, President ATT of Mali, the President of Ghana, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria and SierraLeone to form themselves into an emergent contact group. The aim of this contact group will be to encourage and resource the setting up of an amalgamated armed forces and police and to coordinate the development of a constitution for the new union government.

I encourage the UN, AU, ECOWAS, EU, The US, Portugal, and France to give this paradigm their blessing and support. No petit colonial squabbles or mining interest tussles.
