What else can one describe the act of allowing bandits to maraud the streets, kidnapping and molesting ordinary people while decent people of integrity are kept behind bars for performing an honourable role in society? Is that not the law of the jungle where might prevails over right? When the so-called witchdoctors and their gang stormed Jambur and took them to Kololi for so-called cleansing, Foroyaa published their narration. We did the same for the victims at Essau and Makumbaya. The criminal nature of their activities was quite evident but what have the police done? They have not stopped the bandits from moving to Kanfenda to continue their criminal activities. Rather they arrested a man of integrity who was trying to unearth the truth.

Section 25 of the Constitution is quite explicit. Every person shall have the right to freedom of speech and expression, freedom of assembly and freedom of association. No one has the right to stop another from talking to the people in any lawful activity, especially if that person is a political leader. The people are free to express themselves to anyone they choose to and no one whatsoever has the right to stop them. To do so would tantamount to violating the Constitution.
This is the constitution that President Jammeh swore to defend. Is he defending the Constitution or has he abdicated his responsibility? Does he want to say that he is not aware of what is happening? Is he not aware of the indications of some Alkalos that he sent the bandits to their village. Are they lying or are they speaking the truth?

President Yahya Jammeh, Foroyaa has been publishing all this, yet you remain silent. Do you not read Foroyaa, or have you chosen to remain silent? You have to speak out, President Jammeh, speak out! Will you defend the Constitution and pursue the rule of law as you swore to do, or will you abdicate your responsibility and pursue the rule of might! The choice is yours. History will judge you, Mr. President.
