Dr. Ceesay,

Indeed I am aware of the honour you accord Fatou and I am pleased to know that you will accede to her plea. That is the mark of an honourable man.

I am thoroughly disappointed that uncle Mathew sent a rebuttal of a rebuttal you or Sheriff never sent to the Echo save for your threats thereof. Mr. Jallow, if you are within earshot of Ellen postings, please consider the general ambiance of these times for us as Gambians. Please continue your trademark value-added journalism we have all come to look forward to at the Echo. I am confident the proprietor, your and my friend Mr. Sankareh has already resolved the insignificant value of this banter currently. With Dr. Ceesay's promise to beg leave of the matter, I retire from same. Here's to your good healths! Gentlemen all.

Haruna.

Haruna,

Thanks for forwarding Fatou Jaw Manneh's e-mail. Her advice is well taken. The points she raised in the email are noted. By the way, Fatou Jaw called me, just the other day, and I did reassure her over the phone that I will not be sending a rejoinder to The Gambia Echo, in reaction to Matthew's interview. Fatou is special to me and I am not going to let her down.

Suntou,

I will not be sending my rebuttal to The Gambia Echo if you agree to change to surname from Touray to Ceesay. If you do not change your surname (from Touray to Ceesay), then be prepared to see/read my rejoinder (laugh).

Regards,
Ebrima

A very good advice. Mathew is not listed on the Gambia L as well. He mail me his response to have his side known in full i guess. But as Fatou stated, they are both important to jakaro over minor historical issues.
I hope Mathew and Dr Ceesay let the sleeping dogs lie. They are both good writers and very interesting communicators. I have not read many writings of Ebrima, but he is said to be an interesting writer. As for Mathew, he is unmissable on the platform of the Gambia Echo. Brothers, don't let the grass suffer.

Haruna, can you please forward this to Gambia-L pronto!!!!!!!
Mathew Jallow this back and forth that you want to ignite with Ebrima Ceesay
is going to break my heart into pieces. What and whom is it going to
benefit?.We gambians are going to be the big losers in your fight, not you
neither Ebrima. When our countrys two intellectual giants fight,on nothing but
who used to edit who, come on mathew, please.
You are aspiring to be President, you need your old pals, and even if you
don't, starting a fight with equally respected and well known journalists will
only derail and neutralise your good efforts. What do you do when you become
President? Drag them to jail on matters 20yrs old? Come on Mthew, please.
You can disaggree on issues but comming after eachother personally is not the
right way forward. You all are what gambia needs now. Why can't we all put our
heads together, work together and accomodate eachother. I have talked to
Ebrima, and i pray that he did not send a word of response to this matter.
Mathew please desist!!I beg you and you know i love you very much.Sincerely,
Friend and niece, Fatou jaw Manneh. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://listserv.icors.org/archives/gambia-l.html
