Ladies and Gents,
Let us give Uncle Mathew a big pat on his back for this one. I personally think that he will not be wrong by taking such directions. It is true, we will all learn as we go. I wish him well unconditionally in his political ambitions. I must caution that for him to win the hearts of Gambians, he must never show funny tendencies.

Interview with Omar Joof
Hi Omar,
I greet and salute you in the name of God, Almighty Whose guidance we constantly seek. I ask all to join you in rememberance of our fallen comrades, as you so beuatifully echoed over time. I also congratulate Freedom Newspaper for this A + interview with you. Gainako in the past did some effort in making the event remembered yearly. It happens this year, due to circumstances beyond control, our operations are at a stand-still. Very soon, Baldeh will be done with the work on the site and the new design is for long time goal and to enhance interaction and a very user-friendly site. All indications are that we were hacked by a yahoo account, together with personal matters that came to disrupt operations, involving at least one of the brain-childs of Gainako. I take this opportunity to commend Baldeh and Lamma for their untiring efforts.
To this date, the truth remains the killing of Omar Barrow and atleast 13 other school children cannot be justified. The living testimony is that;
-students were killed by armed state officers
-students were on a peaceful demonstration
-students were only armed with pens, books and pencils
-students were tortured and humiliated
-the APRC administration ordered the shootings
-the APRC lied in their dossier and shifted the blame to the death students
-true justice was never served.
It is certain that the road to the end might not be that smooth. As my favorite essayist, Professor SMO Aka once uttered -that the darkest night must break day, so we will continually live in hope that once day justice will prevail for the victims of April 10th and 11th. In that spirit, I encourage you and all to continue onfighting for what is right and just. It might be that some of us might not witness the day that we will celebrate true liberation from Jammeh`s clutches of tyranny but for sure that day is certain to come. Do not underestimate the little efforts you and all are doing, especially if it is free from personal interest, hypocrisy and name-seeking. May Almighty God Who knows what is in the hearts of men help those with pure intentions always.
April 10th and 11th
A day of darkness echoed aloud
when skies turned dark blue
in an ever peaceful Gambia
no rain, no shine
for two consecutive days
when soldier-pariahs stood aloft
shooting innocent students
killing and maiming students
who merely were armed with only
books, pens and pencils.
O Allah, Lord of mercy
rest those souls by your mercy
and bring to full account
those who earned your wrath and anger
by their evil instints
when they oozed the blood
of the innocent
resembling the Soweto killings
where Mandella and Biko
erected monuments of resistance.
R.I.P fallen comrades!
Down with dictators and tyrants everywhere!
