Matthew Lavoie, a senior music producer at the Voice of America (VOA), has found these African music treasures in the VOA music archives. The “King of Kora”, Soundioulou Cissoko, at his best - playing Tiedo/Cheddo in late August of 1966 at the VOA studios in Monrovia, Liberia. Please enjoy. Born in Casamance, Senegal, in 1923, Soundioulou Cissoko died in 1994 at the age of 71.
