Baba Galleh's interview with All Gambian (below) on the 4th anniversary of Deyda's murder is not suggestive of the possibility that the Professor is eagerly planning a sumptuous State House banquet in his honour.

And your grandfather is on point that the writing styles of Baba, and The Watchman, are quite different. Although the dynamics of his geographical location appears to confuse, I thought I encountered The Watchman on the Mighty. Or at least his intellectual double.

As to the debate with Halifa, the context was far too elaborate, and the issues far too complicated, to score the outcome as a win-lose situation.

I agree with yourself, Jabou, your Grand, Demba, and Yero, that Baba's reputation remains intact. To change my view of Baba, the detractor must come with far more than waffle, and he must also identify himself.

Strange indeed Ansu. But there is at least one story that is not a blank. See AllGambian's coverage of the commemoration via the link below.

Why is the page blank. Where's the story?  It's rather strange if you ask me. Please open link and see.

Sister Jaboh,

I wanted to say something on this thread along the same lines that you expressed but would never have been able to put it better than you did. In essence, please permit me to associate myself with your sentiments.

However, I wish to add that I detect a trend of criticism aimed at tarnishing the highly admirable reputation of Babagalleh being spread around by shadowy characters ever since the defeated attempt by a few individuals to force him, Babagalleh, to step down as head of GPU-USA. Indeed as Baba himselg noted, no one in the public areana is immune from criticism, fair or unfair.

Baba,

You have not hid behind any pseudonyms to criticize the Jammeh regime and you are not the only one who thought the APRC was going to be different from what they have turned out to be today. The Independent Newspaper never compromised when the regime  needed to be criticised and the record speaks for itself.
I am also certain that Halifa Sallah does not debate his fellow Gambians with the intention of humiliating them and would not appreciate that argument being made on his behalf. You showed your graciousness, honesty,  integrity and intelectual maturity with your response posted to this forum when the issue of your past criticism of Halifa's refusal to accept a ministerial post with the APRC was brought up.
Unfortunately, expending our energies shooting each other down is the reason why Africa will  remain a mess.
In my estimation, you can definitely hold your head high.
Jabou Joh

Dear Yero,

Thank you for sharing this p iece with me. I guess as someone active in the public arena, I am bound to be accused, rightly or wrongly, of things I have not done. I am certainly not The Watchman, and Allah is my witness. The writer of that piece has absolutely no evidence that I am The Watchman. He or she simply suspects very strongly that I am. But he or she is wrong. Again, God is my witness that he or she is wrong. As for my being humiliated by Halifa and my hating Halifa, this writer is just expressing his or her hatred of me. And he or she has the right to hate and love whoever he or she wants. I know that he or she owes me an apology for wrongly accusing me. But I do not demand an apology. I know that we human beings are frail and fallible and we all are often betrayed by our minds and prejudices. I leave all in the hands of God Almighty, and pray that the truth about this is brought to light. Just for the record, I am sharing this posting
with the Gambia Post and Gambia-L. Please clikc on the link below to read a write-up Yero shared with me in private.

Galleh,

I don't know if you are a reader/contributor to Bantaba, and I was
surprised to follow some funny threads of late, especially the latest.
Please excuse my over vigilance and I thought I can bring it to your attention.

Regards,
