President Barack Obama is the President of the United States. He is not a candidate for the Presidency neither is he President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

There has been much chatter understandably from Republican jesters and Mimes of the Press (MOP-heads) indicating frustration at President Obama not doing enough or saying enough against the Amadoneyet dictatorship. I think this chatter is ill-advised and unreasonable.

President Obama was elected President because Americans, Europeans, Asians, Africans, Scandinavians, Arabs, Australians, and Israelis, had grown fatigued and weary of sophomoric petulance, false bravado, clueless governance, and wholesale graft and graffignette. President Obama was received with relief and hope that he will save America from self-destructing before our very eyes. Eureka.

As installment in that new American Leadership era, President Obama has done a lot to give notice that it is indeed not business as usual in the United States. A cardinal American value is that Americans are a democratic people to the core. The forcing of Democracy on another people or the coercion thereof is both dishonest and disingenuous. It is evident that the elections in Iran were a farce and that the votes were not counted. The Iranians themselves recognized that and took to the streets without the urging of President Obama. Amid censorship, intimidation, injury, and loss of life, they trundled on with marked efficiency and sobriety. President Obama pleaded with proprietors of Twitter and Facebook to keep the communication lines open to and from Iran when he realized Amadoneyet was bent on muzzling descent. This was extremely embarrassing for Amadoneyet because it indicates a perilous vulnerability for a state that aspires to nuclear weapons. Further more, Amadoneyet's key ally, the Ayatollah Khamenee who declared Amadoneyet the winner of an unprosecuted election, had to take note of the Ayatollah's own deficiency in circumspect. He had to promise Mousavi that he will appoint a council of religious leaders to convene and determine how to handle the situation. Maybe some people are not aware of the near-mythic regard for Ayatollahs in that part of the world but the shame that could kill a sufi, was palpable. President Obama cannot and should not try to do anymore than he is doing. By using his trademark acumen, he is doing more to guide Iran through a conscientious revolution. By and for Iranians, without expending unnecessary capital that will be valuable in either a prospective Mousavi government, Amadoneyet government, or a power-sharing government of the two. The last calculus seems to avade many chatterboxes and mimes.

Hail President Obama. I enjoin you to maintain your sobriety and virulent circumspect.
