This intimidation, harasement, torture and murder should stop. It is only a lunatic that may thinking that Yahya Jammeh is at the end the winner. The dictator is so paranoid, mental sick, arrogant and lonely. Yahya Jammeh will be rotten in jail for econonmic and human rights crimes he has committed. It is about time that Gambians become interest in politics brcause politics matters. People don't have three quarter means a day. Life for average house hold is daily on the edge. The international community can do its bit of advocacy but more so our people should take an active role in politics. Many of us will not rest fighting this dictatorship is nothing order than our moral and social responsibility. Changes will come by all means necessary.

Abdoukarim Gambia at the present moment is a divide and rule system and it seems nobody has the courage to start a nation wide protest against Yahya.I agree some people are even afraid to talk politics over the phone with love ones in the diaspora so the situation is not only the opposition leaders divided but the general population of the Gambia as well.So the devil will do what ever he wants coz the international community is ignoring our calls for greater freedom in Gambia to stop this madness.I wonder why president Wade is so silent about this clone oppressing our people, perhaps he is focusing on his political gain in the Cassamance not what is happening in Banjul.Keep them coming folks coz Yahya jammeh has to go soon and by any means necessary.

You cannot talk about demonstration when they is lose organisation and no party structures at greassroot. BabaGalleh me and you were on the street in 1987. Even with the fact that some of us were arrested but after when we were release we carried on for our demand to be meet. You have then shows us a sense of leadership. What is happening in the Gambia is virtual silence. Gambians don't want to show interest in current politcal climate. Yahya Jammeh is clone to an extend that he can abuse any citizens without countrymen showing any form of solidarity. In Gambia today if you are arrested in political grounds you people, friends will run away from you like you are a devil. The only that will stick by your side is love ones and few conscious individuals.

How true Haruna. Apparently, Gambians are not yet ready to speak up or demonstrate. Memories of the student massacre are still fresh in the minds of a petrified people. But eventually, eventually, something will give.

Galleh, it is apparent therefore that the original 6 were not arrested for "questioning". This could be the last Hurrah for Yahya and it just dawned on him that as he dissolves, he'd like to drag these honourable citizens in his gory emulsion. Gambia and Gambians have been afforded plenty of inspiration. Tananarive, Conakry, Iran, Accra, Dakar, even Mauritania and Iran. When you don't speak up and demonstrate, No one will know you abhor your circumstance. Haruna.

19:00HRS
GPU EXECUTIVE, OTHERS IN REMAND
HALIFA SALLAH, ABBA GIBBA ARRESTED
Three members of the Gambia Press Union Executive Emil Touray, Secretary General; Sarata Jabbi Dibba, Vice President and Pa Modou Faal, Treasurer together with Pap Saine, Ebrima Sawaneh, Sam Sarr and journalists of the The Point and Foroyaa newspapers were today, shortly after 4pm GMT remanded in Mile Two.
The group, who pleaded not guilty, were charged with three counts of 1) Conspiracy to publish sedition publication contrary to Section 368 of Criminal Code 2) Publishing seditious publication Contrary to=2 0Section 51, Sub Section 1 A re, together Section 52, sub section 1C of Criminal Code engaging Foroyaa and 3) Publishing Seditious Publication Contrary to Section 51 Sub Section 1 A re, together Section 52, sub section 1C of Criminal Code engaging The Point.
They are said to have been dragged to the Kanifing Magistrate’s shortly after the 7 hour constitutionally permitted detention limit closing without informing GPU lawyers.
Halifa Sallah, board member of Foroyaa was tricked into arrest when NIA called him earlier this afternoon, asking him to visit their offices in order to sign bail conditions for Foroyaa Editor, Sam Sarr. Upon reaching the NIA, Mr Sallah was detained. So far, no reasons have been forwarded for his detention as neither Counsel nor family have had access to him.
Abba Gibba, an assistant editor at The Point Newspaper was also picked up from the paper’s premises around midday today when Intelligence Agents stormed the paper demanding how and why the paper was being published despite the fact that its Publisher, Pap Saine and Editor, Ebrima Sawaneh, were in State custody.
This latest twist to this saga further demonstrates the lengths to which the Gambian Authorities go to twist the laws of The Gambia in their quest to silence divergent views, to silence objectivity and to stifle freedom of expression and opinion.
An ill conceived move. What a shame!
