I kew i Bilal. That Tirmidhi guy is timid to the core. This is his answer to the query: If you don't argue your position when challenged, how o you know your position is right or wrong? to wit {Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt.” [Tirmidhi]}. I mean the need for knowledge especially about the deen and other social matter is a cornerstone of seeking education and bearing witness. How do you bear witness for Allah and your fellow man when you abandon query and the search for knowledge? I am confident RasuluLLaah did not say such or may be Tirmidhi was in error unawares. This is very significant because it is the precursor Hadith that yielded the caution for argumentation. And from literature both Arabic, English, Fula, Mandingo, Finn, Svensk, and Wollof, argument is different from quarrel or garrulous gaucherie. I encourage the Ulemaa to re-state Tirmidhi's caution and clean up the above saying for Islam's sakes. Allah himself encouraged the pursuit of knowledge and discernments for during the badar'l Hudaybiyya, it is information gathering and processing that determines the Hunafaa'A, the Ansaar, the Mu'Umin, and the enemy. If uncomfortable knowledge is good for Jihad, it is good in Salaam. Anyway thanks Bilal for sharing but stay on top of Tirmidhi for us. Keep sharing this guy with us. I'll do some reading into who he is and where he came from. It is ossible to twist facts and get people to give the decision that you ant to hear, but if your heart is not at peace with the decision then now that it is most likely sinful for you to act on it. nfortunately, if a person sins enough then the heart becomes dead and he ability to feel disquiet dies. Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Leave that which auses you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt.” [Tirmidhi] This hadith is one of the ahadith around which the whole religion evolves: it is the foundation of scrupulousness (wara) around which evolves certainty; and it brings relief from the dark oppressiveness f doubts and speculation. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤C2¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ o unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web nterface t: http://listserv.icors.org/archives/gambia-l.html To Search in the Gambia-L archives, go to: http://listserv.icors.org/SCRIPTS/WA-ICORS.EXE?S1=gambia-l o contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://listserv.icors.org/archives/gambia-l.html To Search in the Gambia-L archives, go to: http://listserv.icors.org/SCRIPTS/WA-ICORS.EXE?S1=gambia-l To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask]
