"... $300 from the U.S. and £495 from the UK".Baba GallehThanks for info, but considering the overall person numbers at play in the US, and Europe, these figures require serious reflection.I profusely thank those who saw fit to contribute in an effort geared at some alleviation of the traumatic challenges facing Chief Ebrima Manneh's family.LJDarbo

Dear All,
This is to inform our general membership and all who so kindly chipped in to help Chief Manneh's family that Njok Malik, our kind volunteer in the U.K, today, Tuesday, July 14, transfered the sum of £495 into the GPU-USA account. Below is the relevant portion of Njok's email sent to our Accountant Joe Sambou and myself.
"Baba & Joe, £495 transferred from my Business Account Yaram Arts and Sports Ltd to the GPU-USA Account. Bank will deduct standard charges and as the money is sent in Sterling, the Bank of America end will exchange into dollars. It may also take up to 5 working days to be with you."
On behalf of the GPU-USA and the Manneh family in Banjul, I want to say thank you so very much to all who contributed to this worthy cause. We were able to collect about $300 from the U.S. and £495 from the UK. This should help the Manneh family for at least another five months.
Meanwhile, GPU-USA last week received a report from GPU-Gambia that they handed over another 2500 dalasi to the Manneh family early this month.. They still have one more installment of 2500 for next month, after which GPU-USA will determine how much more to send again for subsequent months. We ask all who have not yet contributed and would like to do so to please send their contributions to Njok Malik in the UK or Joe Sambou in the U.S.
Thanks all and God bless you.
On behalf of GPU-USA
Baba G. Jallow
Secretary General
