Is it just me or is the Gambian govenment highly incompetent and clueless????
In this report, a justice official says Mr. Jaiteh was not being prosecuted for being gay. The government officials then turn around and say that because Mr. Jaiteh presented the false claim of being persecuted for bing gay, he now IS ACCUSED of DEFAMING the government of Gambia.

Just a few days ago, President Yahya Jammeh threatened that anyone who defames the government of Gambia will be KILLED. This then makes Mr. Jaiteh a target of assassination if he was not earlier being persecuted for being Gay. And Mr. Jaiteh is not in Gambia. Mr. Jaiteh now has conclusive evidence that if sent back to Gambia, he faces certain DEATH. The asylum claim is based on a genuine fear for Mr. Jaiteh's life never mind the manner of his prospective death. We prevail on the Italian government to afford Mr. Jaiteh secours from certain death.
Haruna.
