What do mean by we don't have a bill? We have numerous bills. Two from the senate for that matter. One from the HELP committe with a public option provision and the other from your boy Baucus or faucus as he is refered to lately in progressive circles.
The notion that Obama has nothing to do with any of this is utter madness. He is the de facto leader of the donkeys and this happens to be their signature. If they mandate is to buy insurance without the choice of a public option, guess who is to blame? Obama... the buck stops at his desk. He is letting people like Lieberman frame the debate. That guy shouldn't be in the doggone caucus to begin with. Don't even get me started massoud.

You may want to check it out. The insurance cabal went into a tizzy because the penalities for not buying their crappy policies were reduced in committee. Commend Snow and Baucus for what? Making me... no...forcing me to buy their overlords product or penalize me if I decide not to play. To say that I am not happy with Obama at moment is an understatement. He is letting individuals from tiny states dictate his signature policy. Either he is complicit in this or he is triangulator extraordinaire. I am going with the former at the moment. He decided to deliberately not take a principle position for a reason. Bush...love him or hate had the guts to push for and get his policies enacted in an evenly divided senate. Obama has huge majorities, but is chasing after some phantom bipartisanship. There are two parties for a reason and elections have consequencies. It is past time for Mr. Obama to get his caucus in order or he might just be a one termer.

You realise that this was the first step toward comprehensive Health Insurance Reform. This bill that passed out of Baucus' committee is sort of like a framework bill. If it didn't pass out of the gulag of a committee then you could say anything resembling a Health Insurance Bill is dead on arrival. You must commend Baucus and his committee for the arduous task they had surmounted and I am proud of Olympia Snow. And NO the Baucus Bill does not force anyone to buy health insurance from the Madoffs. That's exactly what got the Madoffs in a tizzy.I want you to join us at Organizing for America so we can accrue more value for the DNC and other conscientious Americans in the ware of the nation.You had to be pissed to send this note 3 friggin times. Despite increasingly desperate attacks from the insurance lobby, the Senate Finance Committee took the historic step of voting reform legislation out of committee with bipartisan support. They're the final committee to do so -- and the negotiations over the final bill will now move to the full House and Senate.
Soon, every senator and representative must decide where they stand. Lobbyists will be racing to each office, trying every trick in the book to derail the President's plan. In fact, just this week, the insurance lobby released a self-serving report falsely claiming that reform would increase costs. Journalists called it "deceptive" and said "something doesn't smell right here." A prominent M.I.T. economist described the study as "deeply flawed."
It's a blatant scare tactic designed to frighten voters and bully Congress -- and it's just the beginning. We need to speak out right away to show Congress that their constituents are watching closely, and we're counting on them to say "no" to the lobbyists and "yes" to reform.
Send a message urging Congress to stand with voters, not D.C. lobbyists, and pass real reform.
It's becoming clear that the insurance companies will do whatever it takes to stop progress: The New York Times is reporting that special interests are spending $1.4 million every day to kill reform -- and even commissioned their own slanted analysis of the Finance Committee's legislation in an effort to defeat it. But today, after widespread criticism, the company that produced the report issued a statement saying that it analyzed only part of the bill because that's exactly what the insurance industry paid them to do!
And we just got word that insurance companies are spending $1 million on a misleading ad to scare seniors out of supporting reform. The ad falsely declares that reform will cause cuts in Medicare, even though reform is crucial to ensuring the long-term survival of the program and preserving the care that millions of seniors depend on.
Now that all five congressional committees have passed reform legislation, we're sure to see attacks that are even more extreme. It's up to us to make sure that ordinary Americans continue to be heard louder than the Washington lobbyists.
