I fail to see the anxiety in the Freedomnewspaper's editorial on NADD. Or the nexxus that the editorial may be a personal attack on Halifa's person. I acknowledge it was incisive and mavericky as Freedomnews is well renowned for given her cutting-edge journalism but I read frustration in the editorial that the continued existence of NADD, a "non-entity", could be the hinderance to a reconnoitred vrai union for the purpose of challenging Yahya's "leadership" of Gambia.
I read that the editorial is yearning for a true and more formidable union that has a chance to challenge Yahya. That the disintegration of NADD hurts UDP, NRP and NADD. And that time is afleeting as we're bogged down, almost hijacked by the non-NADD.
Wassa, I encourage you to read the editorial again with a more panoramic view on the prize. The editorial promises to be the Dead-Sea Scrolls that can yield you your more desired union or coalition. I hope you can see it that way. The editorial did not mention anything outside the contours of NADD and Halifa's leadership of NADD. How that could be protracted as a personal attack on Halifa is not readily perceptible. I hope you can help me out on that as you give the Freedomnewspaper's editorial a second review.
I am just seeking clarification here by asking Pa Nderry whether this is an attack on the personality of Halifa Sallah or not? So far this is more than a mere editorial. Whatever his weaknesses, Halifa has sacrificed a lot for the Gambia and Africa for such attacks. If it is an editorial criticism, what suggestions have you given to the opposition to take on board? What made Halifa's position illegal in NADD when NADD is still a legal body? The illegality of any party in this body is NDAM, whose original founding members have all resigned due to the opportunistic nature of the leader. I think NDAM should have been expelled from NADD, since the leader is more no more in opposition, but has turned himself into a parasitic praise singer for his former torturer. The decision for Halifa not to lead NADD is left with parties still involved and for NADD to disband is also for the parties involve to decide. What then justifies this editorial outburst? I need clarification. I think all the parties currently facing the dangers at home need encouragement towards unity. It is a hard road to travel and the crisis NADD experienced are all part of the process.
I think this editorial outburst should have been put on the head of Waa=Juwara than Halifa.
I would appreciate your clarification.
