I think you're right Haruna. Let's hope that wiser heads prevail in Conakry, though with very few exceptions, these seem to be in very short supply among our soldiers. I am hoping something crucially important happens before Kabine's tastebuds are touched by the power bug. Merry Xmas to you.

You're most welcome Galleh. I think the Achilles heel will be to see Kabine Komara not only resign his post from the CNDD, but to join the FORCES VIVES put together an interim commission to prosecute the elections (without himself contesting any office until after the first term of the ensuing new government). This will send 2 signals:

1. Komara's continued association with the CNDD indicates that he is not significantly disturbed by the La-Guinea murders and that he continues to be accesory to the murders by remaining PM of a potentially culpable institution - The CNDD and President Dadis. Therefore his resignation will divorce him from acts of criminality that amount to crimes against humanity and standing in the way of La-Guinea's further relief by assigning some measure of legitimacy to the CNDD government which retards the maturity of a civilian interim government.

2. Komara's continued role as PM of CNDD cannot relieve him of any sanctions against the CNDD to include freezing of accounts and travel ban. There is a moral component in his public resignation and active assistance to the Forces Vives to bring a semblance of contrition for the crimes and relief to the anxious people of La-Guinea.

On a side note, I don't think it will be wise for Ahmed Tidiane SOuare and any member of the Lansana Conte government to form any part of the transition government or new government at least for her first term in office. They contributed to the sophomoric attitude that inured Dadis and the CNDD when they could have held elections while Lansana was alive and allowed the indigent President to seek treatment for his vegetative condition.

What do you think Galleh? Thanx for your thoughts.

Haruna.

They already have accounts in European banks? Quick thieves I'd say. Yes, they need to be made to pay for their crimes. A similar or worse fate should befall all criminals in power who choose to play with human lives. Thanks for sharing Haruna.

Meanwhile, the EU tightens the neuse around the culpable CNDD and government officials. The list of names will be published soon on the EU website. They are banned from entering or exiting all territories in Europe. You know that's the entire world. Their accounts held in European banks are also frozen. These sanctions are in addition to EU's quarter-long sanctions on arms and munitions to La-Guinea. If I were the CNDD, I'd drop the keys to my locker and run. To Beirut or Tripoli. Or Sudan for that matter.

Allez!!! Haruna.
