By Pateh Baldeh

This reporter continues his investigation on those people who were rumoured to have been arrested by state security agents some weeks ago.
The latest family he spoke to is the family members of the former Deputy Inspector General of Police Modou Gaye. His family members at London Corner confirmed his arrest and indicated that he was arrested shortly before the last feast of Eid- ul adha at his residence in Brusubi.

According to their explanation, he was arrested at his home and that they were not informed of the reasons for his arrest, and up to date they don’t know why he was arrested and detained by the security agents.
They further explained that since his arrest they did not have access to him and that they do not know where he is detained. They informed this reporter that they are not aware of any thing that could have warranted his arrest and detention. They further appealed to the authorities to allow them have access to him.

Editor’s Note:
Does oath of office mean anything now a days. All those who assume public office must swear to perform their duties without fear or favour, affection or ill will.. The Constitution says that no one should be detained for more than 72 hours without being taken to court or released. The authorities should respect the dictates of the Constitution and act accordingly.
