But it seems you are so petty, an independent analysis of interesting subjects like this stale you. There are countless radio station, Internet chat forums where, books are criticise, poems subjected to vigorous commentaries, i refer you the 'riot of writers', and BBC radio five live weekly book/film critics. I don't bothered with love poems Laye, I respect Baba thus airing my views on his poem. Bari as the Mandinka would say,, 'mondinya'. Baba should distance himself completely from those whose sole way of looking at broad issues is been defensive. He should also distance himself from the clan crowds who unfortunately try to flood this topic for pettiness sake. *Baba has written scores of satires, and critical pieces for over fifteen years, so Laye, Baba don't need your protection or defending. Carry on with man worshipping. * *I think it is good for Baba and his writings that, people analyse his thoughts in completely different ways. I looked at the poem in two separate angle, one of them been the perception it will have on a villagers, bearing in mind, only Baba can say for sure what was going on in his mind at the time of penning the poem. The obvious reference which is too simplistic is to look at the poem, stanza by stanza. I took an overall view of the piece. The piece convey to us a critical message. Me being a villager is not an issue. I have lived in more than four cities in my life including our own, therefore, why should i be jitery over a few line poem? Baba, be aware of false pretenders, they clamour to let others think for them, don't at all encourage them. There are those gambian writers who find it hard to leave out arrogance in their writings, their personal prejudices reflect in the smallest jot of ink drop, I have no time for those. *My final word on the piece is that, the usage 'idiot' was an exaggeration. No one is an idiot, if Yahya was an idiot he wouldn't have been capable of ruling us for over fifteen years with all our Buhabas and mister every disciplines up to today.* Therefore underestimating our opponents makes us all idiots. If the poem is about some erstwhile editors who can't seems to leave people' privacy alone, again they are not idiots, since they have made us all fear their dirty hands.
