Oh my friend JDAM. Have I read Fafa Edrissa's compendium??? I think you know by now that your favourite brother does not ask of other what he himself is not willing to undertake. Well now you know. I will add that this time it was labour's love, a veritable re-anchoring of wayward souls. The joy in proven treasures found. The glitter of mankind's raison d'etre. I take it you have read it and perhaps yielded more value from it than a mended soul such as mine can. And you know I already love Shaky Shaky. So it must go without further mental contortion that I will take a liking to any of the multitude of Shaky Shaky's friends. God I loved how the man sidled down well-worn cobblestone alleys, cranberry beads in tow, his ample garb waving methodically to the tune of a bedevilled violin, hesitating at his every inflexion - to survey erstwhile decrepitude and Morro's soulagement. Don't friggin get me started is all I have to say.
Lamin, I concur that the man Mbai must indeed not only be one of the Gambia bar's legal luminaries, he is Gambia's conscience that resides in all of her professions and industry, yearning ever so agonizingly, to be set free. What took him so long is what I wondered. I then came to the realisation that everything has its season. Every soul its epiphany, and every Albert Camus his indulgence in dodoliner. Some dodoline for ever. Mbai, he has the rare fortune to be awoken in the perpetual sleep that is Gambia. With my other friend Faal among the audience, I am confident a new dawn has begun to blow over Gambia, with the air of a conjurer.
It must have been an audition to behold. Even as a fly on the wall. Alas, some in the audience will not understand or appreciate the melody. You know what they say about the staccato of the balafon don't you???? Lemme know Lemme know.
