Thanx Kukeh for sharing. Niger has been a powder-keg for a long time.
Indeed, no surprise. It is greedy, selfish, and know-it-all leaders like Tandja
who destabilize their countries. I have belived that coups are a violent
manifestation of discontent and strife. If you oppress your people and suffocate
peaceful demonstration, your days are numbered. That is not to say that if you
oppress your people and allow peaceful demonstrations, you friggin days are not
numbered. Whether the coup is successful or not today, it marks the beginning of
the peoples' efforts to rid themselves of you. And now the country hopes whoever
replaces you is not another clueless idiot.
Haruna.
