I was following events from the Gambia with a keen interest since the inception of APRC regime, 1994. Truly, if all the reportedly allegations of human right abuses by the Jammeh administration  are something to go by  then, the most reputable Organizations like the STG, MOVEMENT FOR THE RESTORATION OF DEMOCRACY  AND DEVELOPMENT , COALITION FOR HUMAN RIGHT DEFENDERS AND OTHER OPPOSITION ELEMENTS IN THE DIASPORA must take action.I know and I will always compliment their effort for  exposing the blatant human right abuses in the Gambia. However, they must not stop there, it is time for these Organizations to start documenting all those names considered to either promote or directly involve in persecution Gambians. These names can be submitted to the INS and other immigration officials indicating that they were part of the persecution team in the Gambia.

The reason for this  is simple , we see the likes of  former Major Bajinka, now in US , who was alleged to have been behind the fire bombing of independent news paper, filed a protected status   .Nene Macdole also now in Atlanta  and even trying to file Asylum .Reference to her tenure in office .She had promoted the persecution by defending the draconian media laws  and even vilifying  the oppositions and independent media. The magistrates , judges can be added to  this list , notably   the case of Femi Peters is another typical example for Nigerians  Magistrate emmanuel Nkea and Joseph Ikpala and even justice Wowo, in his ruling against Kalifa Sallah in the witchcraft case can be considered as persecution.

A moral lesson would be learned  if these people faces the nemesis at any time the bearing  of the compass has turned against them by the regime they were  doing the dirty game against their fellow Gambians or Africans. I do not know the laws guiding persecution in the UK but in the US is illegal to give papers or protect  those considered  to be part of  persecution team.

Please , this is a food for thought , only critiquing President Jammeh's regime without implementation is just a mere waste of time.

Beautiful. I am very pleased and excited at this effort by Hon. Modou LK Sanneh. I thank him and his ward members who participated in this canvassing effort. I continue to be proud of Hons. Dembo Bojang, Kemeseng Jammeh, Shyngle Nyassey, and Alhajie Darboe.

I further encourage all other wards in Gambia to follow suit in their efforts to reach Gambians far and wide and share their party platform with them. I want to re-assure all opposition parties both in Gambia and the partners of The GOLD FUND that the efforts of The GDP in raising funds for party congresses and other conferences, given earnest effort at electioneering and meeting the voters, is going strong and that any party which completes three such similar voter outreach will surely benefit from funds raised by The GDP. These funds are coming from Gambian citizens abroad, political parties and members of other nations in solidarity with them, and other friendly governments. We will be in touch with the parties as they complete >= 3 such demonstrable effort at meeting voters.

Thank you for sharing Suntou.

Haruna.
