OK Luntang, but does that warrant the holding of a licence? Anyway, I know the police use to arrest cyclist with faulty breaks or without lighting system. That is justifiable. And it seems that is what the release is trying to address with regards to the "Sarits" which are known to cause more traffic havoc in the busy serrekunda area than bicycles.
I think the venture is all about maximising revenue and nothing else. suposedly the fees on driving licence and it's other related fees are not enough now.

Well the fact is that there a lot of people riding bicycles on the main roads around the Greater Banjul who are doing crazy things . Most of those Bicycles don't have breaks so they are danger for themselves and other road users . So I think it is a good move .

This press release from the Gambian police makes me laugh so much. I guess there are more pedal bicycles in the Gambia than are motor vehicles.
