NO Mathew!!! You just can’t quit so soon. I have already spared my Saturday to recollect your trash and send it back to you in Madison. I know you are a quitter but don’t use the wise intervention of some good folks here to do your trade mark hit and runs. Just as Fula’s put it, you doing a "NGHA-TA-WUT-TA" a storm in a cup of tea in other words. If you do not understand the Fula saying it maybe that you not Fula enough. I maybe more Fula than you, but we will talk this tribal crap another time when you choose to.

With the hope that you will come back to clean up your mess after I help you with the collection in bits and pieces. In the meantime before going to bed I will share some general perspectives with you regarding your confusion and hatred towards PDOIS and Halifa Sallah. You always talk loud of how educated you are now a young high school graduate will prove how unknowledgeable you are. The mere occupying of space in classrooms and lecture rooms glossing over books does not make one to be educated or knowledgeable.

Mathew, overall I am glad that you have put PDOIS in focus. This will help me to clarify all the distortions people like you have been spreading against those who preferred to awaken the people rather than exploit their ignorance to win votes. You claim that NRP HAD MORE VOTES IN 1996 THAN 20 YEAR OLD PDOIS. Now let me ask you this question: after 14 years of existence how many seats does NRP have in the National Assembly? How Many Congresses have been held by the party? I hope you do not intend to judge NRP’S viability today by its past electoral records. I am sure you are more intelligent than that.

It is not quoting the IEC records which is sufficient it is the capacity to interpret them which shows one’s honesty and political maturity. The fact that Sidia Jatta is the only former Presidential Candidate who has consistently won his seat since 1996 is credit to PDOIS. The party you claim you have laid a foundation for is not even noticeable in the Gambian political scene and I doubt whether even the young in fulladu know the name Mathew. The name of Sidia Jatta, Halifa Sallah and Sam Sarr are house hold names in the Gambia. You want to show that PDOIS is a failure. You make me to laugh. PDOIS is a party of the first Republic. If you wish to be honest in assessing PDOIS’ record you must compare it with the PPP, NCP,GPP, PDP and NLP.

PDOIS has survived and is now influencing every aspect of National life. Let me also give you food for thought. To say that PDOIS IS 20 plus and should have had more votes than all the opposition parties in 1996 is ridiculous. We all know that PDOIS was born in 1986 and exited only for 8 years and was banned in 1994. Despite its size it was the only party which resisted the ban. Since PDOIS had popular support among the youth it could have accepted the offer to two of its members to be part of the first government after the coup. This was the way to make PDOIS to strengthen its power base. However these honest Gambians refused to be political opportunists. All the youths then swung to the AFPRC. They put wealth and energy to help return the country to democratic constitutional order. When that happened the main ruling PPP and the major opposition party NCP and GPP were banned. Hence there supporters collaborated to form the UDP. NRP put up a tribal card
and took over the colour of the PPP and campaigned against the old order. This is why Hamat was the first to visit Jammeh after the elections. Most people who did not want PPP to return voted for the APRC. Many fulas voted for HAMAT. All those who wanted the PPP to return voted for the UDP. PDOIS lost its support base but maintained its principles. Now its time has come Mathew. I will save the rest for you when you choose to come back or I meet you at the Echo.

I guess I am being a pain in the neck here. So I will leave your sanctuary and drift back into the open world the Gambia Echo. But, I will be watching. Be nice to each other now. Maybe the next time I come back in we will all sign up to leave each other to critic our politics undisturbed by our individual political biases. There can be profound good even negative criticisms. Is that a deal Haruna, Suntou, Mboge and Nyang? I love you all guys. And, thanks Mr. Jallow for tolerating me. Chaio
