I join folks to wish the late Imam of Brikama an eternal resting. The late Imam Touray was a defiant personality, especially at injustices.  He will definitely be remembered for all his struggles and life encounters, especially the Brikama mosque case (demolition) which the APRC administration used to humiliate him, to the extent of his removal as Imam, even though the case was dismissed in court. I last saw him in July of 2006 while on a visit to Atlanta.

God Almighty, please accept this one of ours to heaven. Amen.

A Poem: Who Called?

At dawn, it was a loud call
from none but thy lord -the God again
Who over the ages made similar calls
to heroes and giants alike from earth
through 'Malaika Mawt' of scary fame
taking that soul with one snatch
off, to your lord you go with haste
hoping for another promised world
to live forever in bliss with thy Lord
while leaving your loved ones behind
rest in peace then, all goers!

It is a sad day for me and others you have gone through his tutorship in Brikama. With the rest of my family connection in Brikama the home of my farher's mother and having my family back home it sad to know that my aunties Awa Sanneh's husband Alhagie Karaomo Touray the imam of Brikama pass away yesterday. It is a sad day indeed to the rest of the family. My condolences to Lang Kaba Touray, Barro Touray, Alfisainey Touray and Abdoukarim Touray and the rest of the family. May Allah grant Alhagie Karamo Touray Jannah. I am deeply sad been a young boy in Brikama Primary School Touray Kunda was the place I learned my first koranic lesson and Fakutubo Touray was instructmental in my days in Brikama Primary School. It is a sad day to lost a persom of dignity and well learned scholar who alway stand to preach truth and the way forward for social cohesion of the diverse community of Brikama.
