This just crossed my desk: A brand new poll shows Barbara Boxer leading Carly Fiorina by four points. The Chamber of Commerce response: $340,000 in attack ads.
Another new poll shows Jack Conway tied with Tea Party darling Rand Paul. The Republican response likely will be a quick infusion of cold, hard cash, just like in California.
We've reached a critical moment in the battle for the Senate. 13 races are within 5 points. Lose 10, and we've lost the majority. It's only 52 days out, and my budget says we've got to raise $65,874 in grassroots donations by midnight tonight if we want to counter attacks against Barbara Boxer, Patty Murray and the rest of our candidates. I know you made an online donation to expand our Senate majority in 2008, and we need your help again today. The $5 or more you give could be what pushes one of our candidates over the top and ensures President Obama has a Senate he can work with.
Click here to give $5 or more to the DSCC. We must raise $65,874 in grassroots donations by midnight tonight in order to stay on track. And if you make a donation now, you will be automatically entered to win* a trip to New York City to meet President Obama!
Here's what your investment has done already: Three weeks ago, Colorado's Michael Bennet was trailing GOP extremist Ken Buck. Your donations helped buy hard-hitting ads, and Bennet's now up by three. Gifts from thousands of grassroots donors come in daily and help us defend against attacks in the closest races across the country. In addition to Colorado, we've already been on the air in Pennsylvania and Missouri, and we're just getting started.
But the Republicans are, too. Third-party groups led by Karl Rove's American Crossroads have already spent $13 million to take down Democrats nationwide - and they've pledged $400 million. Rand Paul's up with his first ad - wearing a white doctor's coat and whitewashing his views. Roy Blunt's busy attacking Robin Carnahan. And the Republicans have their eyes locked on President Obama's old Senate seat in Illinois - the ultimate political trophy.
Without these seats, President Obama's agenda is dead on arrival. We all came together to push him over the top in 2008. It's time to show we've got his back again.

These races could hardly be closer, but close won't cut it on Nov. 2. We've got 52 days to win this thing, and if you'll join us, I have no doubt we can do it.
Sincerely,
J.B. Poersch
