Haruna,  There is a serious crisis to be resolved.] Bailo.

Ok, which crisis? And which one needs resolution from Wade?

[A State of Emergency has already been declared in La Guinea and as of yesterday, 12 people have been confirmed killed from confrontations on the streets.] Bailo.

Youths associated with the UFDG Alliance took to the streets to express anger and frustration at the results of the election which was in Pres-elect Conde's favor. THey used the mechanism of an ethnic demonstration to wreak havoc on their fellow citizen La-Guineans, barricade roads by setting tyres alight, damage property belonging to their fellow citizens and the government, pelt security forces with stones to provoke the deaths you speak of. To avoid more deaths, the interim government declared the state of emergency.

Hons. Cellou Dalein  and Alpha Conde' lodged complaints with the supreme court to ventilate allegations of irregularities and intimidation. Why would these youth attack their fellow citizens and security forces??? Can you think of another way for youth to express their dissatisfactions?

The State of Emergency seems to temper or solve the CRISIS of UFDG-youth demonstrations. Unlike other normal demonstrations, this one was aimed at provoking an ethnic melee. Where have you ever seen a legitimate demonstration where some citizens attack their fellow citizens of other ethnicities and the security forces??? What is that demonstration about?

[The current problems in La Guinea has its genesis in the exclusive dictatorships of the  past 50 years.] Bailo.

Dictatorships are a dime a dozen. Dictatorship is not a crime until it comits a crime. You fight the dictatorship that is persecuting you. You do not commute that fight to attacking your fellow citizens and security forces. Now which dictatorships are you talking about??? You will be comforted to know that dictatorship generally knows no ethnicity. Dictatorship is a manner of governance. A criminal government commits crimes.

[Neither the peuls nor other ethnic groups are obstacles to democracy in La Guinea.] Bailo.

Ethnicities cannot be obstacles to democracies. Ethnicities are valuable partners to democracy. That is the whole idea. It is ethnically-motivated criminals that are an impediment to democracy's journey.

[Tyanny has been.] Bailo.

Tyranny is not only an obstacle to democracy, it is anathema to democracy. By its very nature, democracy does not stand a chance in hell against a Tyranny. Tyranny must be done away with for democracy to survive Bailo.
I think you are majorly upset. I'm not sure you understand what you're saying here Bailo and of what import it is to the conversation at hand.

[Guineans live in Senegal than in any other foreign country.] Bailo.

I think you mean more La-Guineans live in Senegal than in any other foreign country. This has been demonstrated by the demographics of Senegal. And I would agree with you on this.

[Wade's concern should be seen in that context.] Bailo.

No. Wade's concern should be for the La-Guineans who live in Senegal, under Senegalese law. If Wade was concerned about La-Guineans living in La-Guinea, he would have issued a call to calm when the youth started taking to the streets. Like Cellou Dalein did.

[Finally Cellou Dallen would concede defeat only when as expected the Supreme Court confirms the Real Prof Alpha Conde as the President-elect.] Bailo.

Bailo, believe it or not, I agree with you that Cellou Dalein should only CONCEDE DEFEAT after the supreme court considers his and Alpha Conde's claims and counterclaims and establishes that he is verily defeated. Until then, Cellou Dalein is not defeated. What I was sharing was this:

Wade had suggested in the article, that Alpha Conde call Cellou Dalein to share ideas on moving La-Guinea forward. Hon. Alpha Conde' has done that thrice already. Once publicly in front of the International contact group and publicly, once in a tv interview, and once in his maiden speech after he was declared the winner in the provisional results. Because Wade is a "Neutral" broker, I thought he committed grave omission not to have realized that Hon. Conde' did that thrice already. And Cellou Dalein has not called Alpha to congratulate him for winning the PROVISIONAL ballot. Remember this is not the same as CONCEDING DEFEAT. In coutesy parlance, it is honorable to acknowledge your opponents overtures for sobriety if that would help douse the flames of conflict. And whether you read that as Dalein CONCEDING DEFEAT or not, Dalein is still not defeated until the facts show him to have been defeated. In the context of Wade's brokerage, it would have been more sincere if he encouraged Dalein to return the courtesy Alpha already accorded him. THRICE.

[Bailo]

Yeah. Go away Bailo. Why don't you settle down a bit. WHy are you so excited over nothing? Wade is a smart fellow you know. ANd what greater DICMATATOR is there than Wade???????????? Since you're mad at dictators.

Men. DOn't piss me off. Haruna.

First of all, there is no crisis at this time in La-Guinea. They are attempting to resolve the crisis of transitional governance and they have done that by the just concluded elections.

Second, Hon. Dalein has already publicly appealed to his partisans for calm.

Third, Hon. President Alpha Conde' has extended a hand to Hon. Dalein for common effort toward the common good.

What should happen now is that they should both wait, in calm and sobriety, for the supreme court to ventilate their claims and counterclaims and announce/publish the final results of the election.

The La-Guinea Fossepel, Gendarmerie, and Army will maintain peace and security on the streets of La-Guinea. If they need assistance, they have the lattitude to request such assistance from La-Guinea's neighbors and development partners, ECOWAS, AU, and or the UN.

Fullstop. end of story. There is no need to manufacture unmanageable crisis from this. It will be advisable for Hon. Dalein to call on President-elect COnde' and congratulate him pending the certification or otherwise of the La-Guinea supreme court.

Haruna.

(MUA)
