Haruna,

Isn't this the same army that mass-murdered over hundred of their own compatriots and raped and sexually-molested Guinean women in broad daylight in September 2009? No person is yet to be hold accountable for those crimes. It doesn't matter because most of the victims are peuls. Ehh?

The army of all nations issues from the citizenry of that nation. The quality of an army appreciates as the nation as a whole matures enhanced by the professional development curriculum of the army.

Prior to La-Guinea's independence, the military was a ragtag militia trained and organised by La-Guinea's coloniser France. This army did not have the luxury of a seamless transition to an independent and well-disciplined army but despite the abrupt impoundment of Independence, this La-GUinea army that everyone loves to hate, was the achilles heel in the viral independences of African nations from the coast to the Sudan, from the Maghreb to the Congo, all with a shoestring budget that will cower the timid and reserve their lot in life to permanent slavery and subservience.

After France's demoralizing expulsion from La-Guinea, she worked tirelessly to make sure La-Guinea administrations are undermined and that France saves face. The legacy of France in La-Guinea was inextricably linked to France's treasures in the rest of Africa and to the extent La-Guinea was spoiler, she threatened the very viability of France as a future superpower. There is a reason why France has never been considered as a superpower even though the scope of her "Commonwealth" was superior to that of the regarded superpowers of the UK, USA, and the Soviet Union. The black African could not possibly be the thorn in France's side. The scheme of destabilization ensued with the recruitment of collaborators among the Africans themselves. My Texarcana churchman, Grimes, once shared with me. Haruna, there is no readier recruit for general malaise than a hungry and enslaved cadre.

Through all the machinations of a virulent subpower, the La-GUinea army forged ahead with new and different allies mainly from the east. At the time, the armies of the east themselves were engaged in protecting their territories and peoples from the glistening eyes of a demoralized colonizer who believed that because of her inherent superiority manifested in empire and serial colonies. The chinese have developed a proverb for such hungry eyes. That proverb was to guide their self-improvement and fortification philosophies through the centuries. These are the savior nations and armies that La-Guinea had to rely on for her very survival. Human RIghts becomes a distant consideration if there were no humans to claim those rights. These armies and nations were fighting for the very survival of their cultures and peoples.

Since Independence, La-Guinea knew no peace. France made sure of that. However, and with the goodwill of savior nations and armies, these brave citizens of La-Guinea and Africa repelled many machiavellian and brazen attempts at destruction by the frustrated and disgruntled armies of the colonizers and their surrogates, to include enemy collaborators from within their good number. They are citizens of La-Guinea, and no one can claim to love La-Guinea more than they do. Their character mirrors their history and experiences, to include surrogate invading armies from the neighborhood. They are at the same time, a manifestation of the proud and tempestuous citizens of La-Guinea. If it were'nt for this pride and tempest, La-Guinea will never have been independent or assisted in the independence of the other Africans.

Hail La-Guinea army!!! Thank God/Allah for you. We are eternally indebted to you for our very lives, for which we imagine rights. With you, we are confident the glistening eyes of the colonizer, ever ready to recolonize, will dull with intervening time and global events.

I thank you on my own behalf.

Haruna.
