Broad strokes of the devil’s brush
On the dry walls of a yearning heart
Conjure dazzling panoramas
Of a golden paradise
Where tree branches kiss the earth
Heavy with bundles of joyous fruit
And the air is made of pleasure.
Broad strokes of the devil’s brush
On the canvass of a hungry mind
Create scenes of endless beauty
A bright new world of peace and plenty
With golden houses
With diamond windows
Where wishes are horses that fly at will.
