The Gambian political system is dynamic. If all they do is study that evolving system, they need to be fair to themselves and do something about it. We're not Guinea pigs in Gambia you know. Also, I think PPP before PDOIS has actually lived the Gambian political system. They didn't have the luxury of mondays morning quarter-backing. So this should not be the reason to be fair or unfair to PDOIS.

[They have developed as a consequence of their intensive inquiry of the political, social, economic, cultural and other attendant realities of the Gambian situation, a political, social and economic blueprint of their response to the needs and aspirations of the Gambian people, should they ever be honored to assume the reigns of power in the country.] Rene.

Have they developed through that decades-long study???????? I think that's what we and PDOIS is trying to figure out.

[Not only that, they have always been in the forefront in guiding public opinion, and to a certain extend give context and relevance to some of the most pressing political issues that have evolved over the years.] Rene.

PPP has LIVED public opinion. Look where that got them. And the other political parties, were they dozing off after they formed??? I mean NRP, UDP, GDP, GMC, GPDP, APRC.... Should we not be fair to them also Rene? You PDOIS people have a way with empty rhetoric.

You can say that again. I suppose UDP, NRP, PPP, and GMC are governments in power.

[Most of us who sympathize or support PDOIS do so, not because of the personalities behind PDOIS but becuause

of the vision and mission they represent. And we are yet to find a better alternative.] Rene.



And the rest of us sympathize or support NRP, PPP, UDP, and GMC because of the personalities there-in and not

because of their visions and missions????????????????????????????????????????? And together we outnumber you. I

guess that's not good enough argument for you and PDOIS. We don't count.

I got news for you: PDOIS is only significant to PDOISards. Now what we want to do is enable that number to be

campaign for its own candidate to be the single candidate of the


opposition through primary" Hon Sidia.


 


My concerns are how are they going to organise and conduct this


primaries? and whether IEC and the government will allow them . My


advice for PDOIS is to drop the idea of the primary and come up with


another strategy of selecting the flag bearer to lead the coalition.


Gambians are not used to primaries and this will cause a big problems


within the opposition parties.


 


As Hon Darbo said " if different opposition leaders go on a political


platform to campaign to be the candidate of the opposition, they may


engage in character assasination just to win votes". I totally agreed


with Darbo and it will cause a big problem.
