Bro Karim,

Very enlightening this forward is. I know in Islam, there is what is called “eye for an eye.” I am still trying to understand the limits of such stipulations and where it is applicable –not to confuse myself!

Correct me if I am wrong, I think I followed at some point that Tabara died in mile two. The case of the military men is a sad one, and some of them are victims of the same creeping evil they planted with their own hands –blind support of Jammeh. In the case of Jammeh, his deeds are irreversible. He is the wrong one to execute anyone else. If there is anyone deserving such way of justice, it is Jammeh and his likes. They wronged beyond their limits.

On the death penalty though, I personally don’t buy into it for obvious good reasons. My opinion for this is simple. I know others might disagree, which I understand is okay.

For one, I do not see the death penalty as truly a capital punishment, because once the person is executed by lethal, hanging or electrocution, the person doesn’t feel the pain beyond that moment. In my view, such wrong doers are supposed to be imprisoned with hard labor, so they can test the pain of their own deeds.

Killing an innocent convict on any crime is a great injustice. I hope when you kill, you are certainly doing it on the actual committer of the crime. In Chicago, Darryl Hunt was going to be executed for rape and murder. He was the wrong one. With the help of DNA testing, a wrong execution was avoided.

The humanitarian part speaks even with bigger volumes. That is to say; human civility shouldn’t allow killing of other humans. Killing is not a solution to the problem.

Thanks for Sharing. I wish you a holiday full of love.

Kind Regards,

Yero.
