Yero, thanks for your response and I catch your drift.  I am not blaming Islam for acts of individuals.  What my challenge is to you and your fellow Muslims that continue to tell us Islam is a peaceful religion while Muslims are being slaughtered by their fellow Muslims in the name of Islam and that is not addressed.  This is not restricted to the Somalis alone.  Some of the Arab states are the most brutal, yet, Muslims are blowing up innocent Muslims with impunity.  After saying that Islam is a peaceful religion more than a thousand times or Islam is not at fault, one has to bring more to the table.  My name is Joe Sambou, but I was also raised partly by my aunt, Ramatoulie Sumareh and Uncle, Malamin Korma, both Muslims.  I am very aware of what is up.  My challenge is we need to bring more to the table than keep repeating that Islam is peaceful.  That has proven to not and will never be the solution to Muslims slaughtering innocent Muslims.  If it is cultural or what ever, it must be addressed for it has gotten out of hand.

Agreeably, there is a problem somewhere, to put it quite frankly. Islam though is not the problem -more peaceful than a dove. To help stretch this, let us understand that there is a left path and a right path. A person chooses the paths he/she wants to follow.
 
To give you guys a little background on these Somalis, since close to 750,000 of them live in the same state as I do -their problem is honestly not the religion part. It has to do with the tribal lineages, the different "kabilas". That said, while people may try to use religion to justify their acts, what will stand out is the fact that people are responsible for what they do. Their killing spree long since extended to the US. I remember forwarding a piece here once regards to a Somali murder incident. The Somalis has taken to a lot stuff lately, most recently noted the gangs/prostitution rings that were raided in many states where hundreds of them were arrested.
 
In real life, I observed that people always have things to hang onto -the hypocrisy part of their souls. For example, even Yaya Jammeh of the Gambia sees himself as a great panafricanist and a liberator, basing it on political prominence. Bin-laden will hang onto certain areas to justify his mayhem. George W. Bush will act in the name of fighting terror to create more world problems. Even the Rev. Jimmy Jones and Timothy McVeigh will all cite certain areas. That is to say, the rotten heads need to stop their cowardice. Live and let live, simple as it can be!
 
While Islam has been a scapegoat for many incidents, I personally believe with certainty it is not responsible for it. It is just what it is. People fight for tribes, oil, political dominance, out of being spiteful, and even simply just for arrogance, which ever of them will justify what they want to achieve. I know the viewing of Islam as terror might not cease just like the snap of a finger. The truth is this; it is based on two things -those doing the unacceptable acts and those on the hunt to see the religion down. To me, I see no difference in the two. In fact, the latter can masquerade in the former, just to make sure a point is scored in branding Islam as terror and not peaceful.

Banu, this is where it is not enough to continue to say Islam is peaceful when you have such folks slaughtering their fellow humans under the name of Islam with nothing to stop them.  Regardless of what religion this young man wished to convert to, this is barbaric.  Thus, should we continue to focus on pushing the defense for the peacefulness of Islam when many innocent humans are slaughtered daily under the name of Islam?  Muslims themselves catch hell from their fellow muslims bombing them into pieces under the same Islam.  Something is wrong some where.  This has been going on far too long, only for Muslims to just say Islam is a peaceful religion and not really addressing why people continue to kill under the name of Islam. Islam is not the only religion in the world, thus, why do we continue to see folks kill "for Islam"?  Just unbelievable!
