Dear Haruna,

The end of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is the biggest civil rights victory in years. It’s an example of America living up to our highest ideals of equality and fairness.

Ending this discriminatory policy is truly a monumental achievement, and I’ll remember this morning’s bill signing for years to come. Commemorate the event in your home or office with this photo of President Obama signing the repeal into law. With one stroke of his pen, a wrong was finally being made right.

The path to equality is long, and a monumental step was taken today.

                                Sincerely,

                                J.B. Poersch
