Bro Sanusi/Haruna,

I must reason with you two on NADD. I think NADD is the single alternative option to removing Jammeh. By and large, it was the most forceful combination of thoughts (forces) ever both at home and abroad that galvanized efforts to the extent of coming close to removing Jammeh. I am not trying to get married to the name, "NADD", but the idea contained in it, to me is the short cut and lasting option to rescue Gambians from Jammeh's political tyranny. Though as I followed the debate on different political takes time and again, the jibes are more tailored towards the political participants/leaders, rather than discussing the merit of political content, to the extent hardly any fruition.

I would encourage any politician (especially the opposition -all of them) to get back to the drawing board and form another coalition. It will not matter to me whether it will be called NADD, or some alliance name, but in as much as it yields total input, it will give maximum output. It is my firm believes that no single party can get this task done, especially the nature of the constitutional changes based on majority winning instead of the previous 50 percentile score.
Just my two cents on this...

Thank you so much Owens for clarifying. I had been told this story some years ago but I couldn't conceive of a good reason why not having the opportunity to visit the US with the beginnings of Nadd would offend Ganji. I now recount, and with your rendition, that is the true narrative for the migrant's lure.

Owens, just to add to your instinct about the UDP being the party of all Gambians of all ethnicities confondues, I believe Hon. Hamat's sticking with the UDP when the latter resigned from the NADD party was based on some ofthis wisdom: Compared to a NADD party, the UDP, by-itself, is a grander coalition/alliance. This is not to discount the fundamental error in registering NADD as a political party and leaving it to drown under the burdensome weight of economic and transient migrants.

What in the name of the UN Owens?????? I like the way you reason.

Haruna. I'm still working on uncle Sidia. I need to schedule him for an eye exam presently. Then I'll keep him here and go primary in Wulli. I am as much a son of Wulli as Uncle Sidia is. Word!!! I have begun to gather signatures already. That OJ is trying to avoid me I hear. Ataa-watila Owens.

Haruna
I like your take about who are the founding fathers of UDP. The party is a broad based coalition and it is entirely wrong for any one to brand it a Mandingo based party.

On the question of Ganjie, the guy was OJ " lietuenant during the early days of NADD. The man only DEFECTED after losing chance of joining OJ & Co to their famous tour of the US.

As regards to his narration on Observer, you don't expect Ganjie to tell us the facts. He wants to impress Jammeh or else his job will go to someone else.

Regards

Sanusi

Owens,

I did not understand what you shared here. Can you please clarify? Did you mean Ganji's story is NOT plausible because his reasons for working for Yahya are not accurate? Thanx in advance.

One thing struck me though: Ganji did not defect from the opposition to APRC. He resigned from the opposition to take leave of politics. However, after Yahya gifted him some money and cows, he was coerced into WORKING FOR YAHYA. Ganji did not join APRC. He is and continues to work for Yahya. It is a subtle but significant difference. If we read the interview more closely, that became apparent after Yahya gifted him the money. Check out what Yahya said to him. Ganji is an economic migrant. In his own country. And so are Rambo and Uwaa. Foroyaa koleyaataleh.

I still look forward to the clarification of your statement below Owens.

One thing I was pleased with Ganji's interview however is his recounting of how the UDP was formed. The quip about whether Ousainou was a founding member or not is a matter of semantics for me. But hopefully now, the idiot tribalists can discern if the UDP is a Mandingo party or not. Something tells me they will manufacture a Mandingo halo from the UDP.

I must thank Yero for sharing these two interviews with us. Now we can focus on growing and strengthening the greatest party of Gambia which includes the most of Gambia's ethnicities. Unless you hit these idiots with a Mack truck, they will continue to undermine your good efforts for commoner relief. PDOIS my big beautiful black arse.

Haruna.

Yero

As far I am concerned Ganjie's story is plausible. The guy defected after US embassy denied him visa to join NADD leadership that was on tour.

Scary Political Spin!

Something is up and down with politics and politicians. The spin sometimes is a scary one.

Here is what Mr. Touray told me in October 2005 in an exclusive interview.

http://www.allgambian.net/news-stories_271.html

Here is what Mr. Touray recently told the DO.

http://observer.gm/africa/gambia/article/interview-with-governor-ganyie-touray

In conclusion, it begs the question, thus: Is politics all about big rhetorics, big headlines, making money, and mere utterances with no consistency in meaning towards uttered at any given time? Methinks so! I am sure others who believe in the power of politics will disagree based on the fact of other consistent political leaders. To which side one belongs, the truth is politics especially that observed in most African countries is not fundamentally principled, but rather based on picking the master’s crumbs like a pet doggie yearning for more and more crumbs at any time from the fat master on the high chair.
