The Last Call

Good Folks:

Having followed the political wrestling arena for while now, I have no doubt that most (if not all) are committed to seeing democracy and rule of law prevail in the Gambia. I have witnessed and observed different efforts. The question that any of us is unable to answer is why the opposition cannot unite until this hour of a presidential year.

As simple as this reminder can be, I wanted to remind all that the only winning mathematical formula in an election is getting the numbers and adding them together. If so, unity is the only way forward.

We can keep crying all we want; we can complain to the skies the far we want and we get angry all we want, but if it is change that we are looking for, we must do away our small and big differences for the interest of our nation which comes first. While exposing Jammeh’s continued criminal activities is a welcomed move, we must employ action to work.

I ask all of you (including myself) to summon our party leaders to task, a sort of request (not demand) to have all the opposition to galvanize. This will be a test as to whether our individual leaders do listen to our concerns and the plight of Gambians.

Ordinary Citizen,
Yero
