Imam Muntaha Faye of Dodson Street in Banjul has sent a letter of gratitude to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh for his support to their annual Maulud Nabi commonly called Gamou.

The message reads:
I write to thank Your Excellency on my behalf and on behalf of my family for the assistance you always render to us in whatever you are called to, particularly whenever we are cerebrating Maulaud Nabi (Gamo). Sir this is not the first time your assistance reached us and this is not the first time that you honoured me personally in various ways. Your assistance is always there for everybody when it comes to religious affairs and more so to our family, particularly to me.

As we cannot pay Your Excellency for what you are doing for us, we will always pray for you. We will never relent in praying for your well being, long life, good health and prosperity. We will continue to pray for your continuous leadership and wish to reassure Your Excellency of our unflinching support. Your support and assistance to mankind corresponds with Sura 1, verse 261 of the Holy Quran, which I quote:“The parable of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is that of a grain of corn. It growth seven ears and each ear hath a hundred grain. Allah giveth manifold increase to whom He pleaseth: and Allah careth for all And He knoweth all things”.

May Allah bless and increase your wealth abundantly and reward Your Excellency for the good you have done and continue to do for mankind. Sir, kindly allow me, once again, on behalf of the whole family, to say a very big thank you. May Allah the Almighty, shower His Mercy on you. May He Guide and protect Your Excellency, your family and the entire nation. Amen.

Whilst we pray for you, your family and our dear motherland, please accept the assurance of our highest consideration and esteem.

……………
We write to humbly register our sincere appreciation for the overwhelming amount of money given by Your Excellency to our Association. It is with great pleasure and humility that we write to express our sincere Thanks for the amount given during the Roots Festival Opening Ceremony.

Your Excellency your recognition and acknowledgement of our participation has indeed motivated and built a more united Association and has greatly bestowed determination in the youths of my Association. Since its formation we have been failed in numerous counts but have never lost the hope that we are the future leaders of tomorrow and in building this future we must greatly rely on hope, which we did yearly.

Yes there is no doubt that you are a great supporter of the youths in whatever they find themselves, my association is trying to build a world for those youths interested in dancing, acting and singing and also boosting the future of our entertainment. Whilst recognizing what it takes to be youths we humbly pledge that we will always endeavor to portray the good image of the country and put The Gambia on the global entertainment world by living up to expectations as patriotic citizens.

Please allow me to wish you on behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire Association best of wishes and highest considerations.
