The four abducted included two Frenchmen. They were abducted from their hotel and taken to the Presidential palace. From there no traces of them were found. The arrested included a colonel of the Gbagbo Presidential guard. Parallel investigations continue on the 2004 disappearance of journalist Guy Andre Kieffer. The special prosecutor on this case has arrived in Abidjan to continue the investigation. Haruna.

Rapt au Novotel d’Abidjan : des suspects arrêtés
L’enquête sur l’enlèvement et la disparition de 4 hommes dont 2 Français en avril 2011 à Abidjan progresse. La police aurait procédé à plusieurs interpellations. Dimanche 22 mai, le président Ouattara affirmait que des miliciens avaient été arrêtés dans l’enquête des disparus du Novotel. Aujourd’hui, on apprend de source policière que 5 hommes dorment en prison. Il y aurait parmi eux un colonel de la garde présidentielle ainsi qu’un commissaire de police. De source policière on affirme que les personnes interpellées ont commencé à parler et à livrer certaines informations. Les 4 étrangers enlevés ont été conduit au palais présidentiel. De là on perd leur trace. Les enquêteurs ivoiriens et français, poursuivent les interrogatoires. Parallèlement, le juge Patrick Ramael est lui aussi à Abidjan. Il poursuit ses investigations sur la disparition en 2004 du journaliste Guy André Kieffer. Selon certaines informations, on aurait perdu la trace du journaliste après qu’il eut été conduit au palais présidentiel. RFI.
