My friend,
Is this another act by the broken opposition to get some few votes? I think it will be a good idea for them to come together and show Gambians that they love the Gambia like OUR DEAR LEADER. Just like Suntu, Daffeh, Wandifa, and Haruna, you like this trivial comments that will not take the opposition anywhere. I am not a legal expert but here are a few observations that may disqualify me, you, and lots of other 'Diasporas'.

1. No person shall be entitled to have his name entered or retained on a register of registration voters if he is
(a) by virtue of his own act, under any acknowledgement of allegiance, obedience or adherence to a foreign power or State or does, concurs in or adopts any act done with the intention that he shall become a subject or citizen of a foreign power or State;
This comes directly from the Election Degree... so read between the lines....

2. In the U.S., nationals should be mindful of the same issue indicated above. I believe the same is true for the U.K.

3. Please advice us on the logistics of arranging such a task successfully. I am not sure how the Gambian Embassy in D.C can coordinate registering the 000s of Gambians in the continental United States using old ID cards, expired passports, etc... and weeding out those who fall under category 1.

Sometimes we should be realistic and not be used by the opposition. I know it is our right to vote, but we have to realistic.

Have a good weekend...

Gambian Movement for Democracy and Development (GMDD) are calling on the Independent Electoral commission (IEC) Chairman Alhaji Mustapha Carayol to extend the registration of voters in the diaspora by ensuring that every Gambia eligible to vote is not disfranchised.

So I created a petition to Alhaji Mustapha L. Carayol, Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha L. Carayol, chairman and Alhaji Mustapha L. Carayol, which says:

"Mr. Chairman, Solidify the foundation of Gambia democracy by registering the diaspora Gambians to enable us / them to vote in the November 24, 2011 presidential election.

(A). I am a Gambian citizen (B) I am a friend of the Gambia (C) I am an advocate for democracy (D) I am an advocate for human rights."
