Kantora ‘a no go area’ for the opposition Locals assure President Jammeh at Suduwol meeting

The people of Kantora have warned the opposition that their constituency is a ‘no go area’ for them in view of their unanimous stance in terms of loyalty to the ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC).

The locals were speaking Friday afternoon in Suduwol village in the Upper River Region (URR) District of Kantora during a ‘Dialogue with the people  tour’ meeting presided over by the president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh. Kantora District has been noted for its’ loyalty to the ruling party since the advent of the Second Republic, and if their words are anything to go by, the opposition will have a herculean task proving them wrong in the forthcoming presidential election, 

Speaker after speaker at the meeting highlighted the countless developments in the district, and were unanimous in declaring that theirs is ‘a no go area for the opposition’ in the coming elections. Speaking at the meeting, the National Assembly member for Kantora, Honourable Saikou Susso disclosed to the meeting that his constituency targets 100 percent votes for President Jammeh in the upcoming election. Commending President Jammeh for the numerous developments and achievements including the peace and stability in the country, the Kantora lawmaker said: “The constituency is a no go area for the opposition.” 

Binta Dampha also assured the president of their votes in the upcoming election. “It is not because you are sitting that is why we are saying this, we have said so because you know our loyalty since day one,” she said. Yaya Camara, youth mobiliser in the area assured the Gambian leader that they will replicate their previous successes in the forthcoming presidential election, saying: “We are ready for ‘no oppose’ in Kantora this time around.” Also speaking at the occasion, Lady Councilor Haja Juma Trawally joined her colleagues in expressing similar sentiments, stating that Kantora is ready to make history in the upcoming Presidential election. 

The youth mobiliser, who informed the meeting that the tractors donated by the Gambian leader are being utilised by the youths in the region, stated that they are determined to ‘die’ in the cause of joining the Jammeh administration in the development process of the country. Also speaking at the occasion, the APRC  constituency chairman, Alhaji Saikou Samura said they are determined to make Kantora ‘no oppose’ in the forthcoming election as they did in the immediate past elections, while assuring the president that Kantora is 100 percent APRC and that they have one voice.

All speakers who took turns at the Suduwol meeting spoke at length about the Gambian leader’s numerous developments in the area, and the country at large.
