Dear Haruna,
It's been about two years since I was diagnosed with cancer, and I’ve
been humbled by the warmth and outpouring of support from friends and
even strangers, and women who have faced the same diagnosis.
The other patients and families John and I have met have inspired me
with their spirit and grace. Each patient, each caregiver reminds us of
the great optimism and compassion all around us. That's been a wonderful
gift.
As the daughter of a doctor – always fascinated by medicine and
understanding the value of prevention, treatment and wellness in general
– I am as interested in the strides we are making to cure cancer as I
am in the research that show us the causes and triggers of different
cancers.
So this year, John’s ride in the Pan Mass Challenge means just a little extra to me. Can you please support his ride by donating today to help us all fight cancer?
The money raised will support the Jimmy Fund, a Massachusetts institution always leading in the fight against cancer.
There are treatments that are standard today that were undreamed of
just a few years ago. And there have been big advances in care that have
made treatments both less invasive and more effective.
And all of this is so very real, and so important, when you or someone
you love is diagnosed with cancer. So, please, give to support the
research of today to get new treatments for the people who get that
diagnosis in the future. Give to support the incredible care today’s
patients receive. And give to honor those who fought this battle before
us and gave us all a better chance.
Thank you so much for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Teresa |
