Kanja BAS Sanneh, the deputy head of mission at The Gambian Embassy of the  in Paris; France and Momodou Seedy Kah, the Gambia’s High Commissioner in Freetown, Sierra Leone have written to the president, His Excellency, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, congratulating him on the 17th Anniversary of the July 22nd celebration. In another development, the president also received other messages from other Gambians on the occasion of the anniversary.

The messages read:

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of my family and on my own behalf to congratulate you on occasion of the development oriented second Republic July 22nd celebrations.

Your Excellency, Gambians indeed have cause to celebrate after sixteen years of your government’s commitment, hard work and sincerity to the citizenry accompanied by development in every corner of our country.

The world, Your Excellency, is witnessing the peace, harmony and the everyday progressive development involving Gambians of all age, gender and tribe under your dynamic leadership and this is continuing to make the Gambian an everyday beacon of hope for many around the world.

Please allow me to thank Your Excellency for assisting The Gambia with a first class modern ferry service linking the capital to the northern part of the country. We are all happy for this positive development, as the country has never had such magnificent vessels throughout its history.

I pray to Almighty Allah, Subhana Wataala, to give you and your family good health, long life, strength, courage and guidance from day to day and year to year. Once again my family and I send you our warmest felicitations on this joyous occasion.

I am pleased to congratulate you on the recent July 22nd Celebration, which marks a successive and prosperous 17 years of achievements and development. In as much as I made mention of my personal wishes, the people of Pirang also wish to convey their sincere and heart felt felicitations to you and your entire family and government.

Mr. President, we owe it to you. We will continue to pray and consolidate our solidarity with you as patriotic citizens. On the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the July 22nd revolution of the Republic of The Gambia, on the theme ‘Mobilizing positive youth energy fro enhanced national development’, The Gambia Students’ Association in Morocco would like to convey its heart felt congratulatory wishes through the Embassy of the Republic of The Gambia in the Kingdom of Morocco to the first family, the government and people of The Gambia.

The theme for this year’s celebration reminds the youths of the existing conducive environment created by the government under your visionary leadership. It is only by the youth that a nation can guarantee meaningful and sustainable development.
