I ascend to your plea Father Mose to PDOIS, NRP, ppp, and GMC to join with the UDP on these concessions. It is not the UDP meeting PDOIS half way. The UDP met them all the way. For Gambia's sakes.

Haruna.

"UPD, according to reports by those who attended the meetings presented a written proposal where they demanded a party led coalition to be headed by the UDP. They reported to have put everything else on the table including a popular demand for a five year transition and the flag bearer would also not contest or endorse any party or candidate after the five year transition. It was also reported that the UDP party also indicated that it was willing to have an equal representation of all opposition parties regardless of size in a UDP led government.
It is worth noting that these were conditions that were key demands in the default Memorandum of Understanding of the failed NADD coalition in 2006. Many independent observers reported that UDP has made serious concessions which they refused to do in previous coalition efforts." GAINAKO

If the above is true, it goes to the heart of one of the fundamental issues addressing self perpectuating rule in the NADD MOU. Not only has UDP made a huge concession, but such a deal can be seen as reasonable. I am urging to the PDOIS leadership, NRP, PPP, GMC and organizations like STGDP to uneqivocally give support to this frame work. It is evident that whether you are talking about the poor farmer at "Simbara', the housewife mother at "Dankunku", or the persisitent advocate in New York City, they are all only interested in a united front as the first phase of the democratic process. We can all deal with losing the 2011 election under any kind of a united front, but there is no way that we can deal with losing the election by going it alone.

For the sake of all the people that have paid the ultimate price, the majority of Gambians that are held hostage and absoluately has no freedom, and of course countless numbers of Gambians languising at the Mile 2 prison, please give us a chance to vote against Jammeh and the APRC.

Thank you
Musa Jeng
