This is the real Robin Hood style but in a different version(Robin takes from rich to feed the poor and Yahya takes from the poor to over enrich himself. How can some one donate to yourself. One who has stolen almost everything from the poor is now coming to donate to himself. This is indeed laughable though very serious indeed.

Kanilai Family Farms gives to President Jammeh

Thursday, October 13, 2011
Farm managers of the Kanilai Family Farms Tuesday presented a sum of D44, 440 as a token and show of loyalty to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh.

The money was received on the Gambian leader’s behalf by the vice president and minister of Women’s Affairs, Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Biram Camara, the farm manager at Dubong in Foni Kansala, explained that the gesture is a small token from the managers said farms as a show of support for President Jammeh ahead of the November 24th presidential polls.

Speaking at the occasion, Mam Nyassi, the ward councilor, Foni Kansala, equally thanked the Gambian leader for his dynamism. VP Njie-Saidy thanked staff of Kanilai Family Farms for their move and dedication towards realising the Gambian leader’s vision for the country. She noted that the farm in recent years has just gone beyond just a farm, and is now involved in other businesses like bread production among a host of others.

VP Njie-Saidy also thanked the citizenry for their support to the farm, pointing out that some of the profits are ploughed back to the communities. She called on people to be steadfast and committed to ‘grow what they eat’, and went on to laud the Gambian leader’s intervention in the market, especially on basic commodities.

She finally prayed for God’s guidance and protection for staff of Kanilai Farms. The minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment, Abdou Kolley, thanked the staff of the Farms for the move, describing it as a great manifestation of their love for President Jammeh.

He further lauded the Gambian leader’s back-to-the-land initiative geared towards self-reliance and called on people to adhere to the call. He commended the entire staff for their hard work, stressing that it is important that people ‘eat what they grow’.

The National Assembly member of Banjul North, Alhagie Sillah, also commended Kanilai Family Farms for the move, saying it is not about the amount but the gesture that matters. He noted that President Jammeh can finance his own campaign, but that the move is a show of appreciation for their love for the party and its leader. Paul Mendy, the coordinator of Kanilai Family Farms, who chaired the ceremony, echoed similar sentiments.

Serere Community of Banjul
In a similar engagement on Tuesday, members of the Serere Community in Banjul also presented a DVD Musical Cassette to the Gambian leader through VP Njie-Saidy at State House.

Presenting the cassette, Ramou Sarr, a member of the group, thanked the Gambian leader for his dynamism and prayed that God protect and guide him.

Samba Faal, the mayor of Banjul, commended the Serere Community in Banjul for their move. He explained that he is appreciative of their efforts and expressed his office’s continuous support to the members of the community at all times.

Mayor Faal also urged them to come out in their numbers and vote for the APRC in the November 24th Presidential Election. Alhagie Sillah, the National Assembly member for Banjul North expressed similar sentiments. He hailed the Gambian leader for his love for cultural matters and assured that he is appreciative of their efforts.

Fatou Lamin Faye, the minister of Basic and Secondary Education also thanked the members of the Serere Community for their efforts. She praised President Jammeh for his foresight and development initiatives, stressing that the move demonstrates their love for cultural music.

VP Njie-Saidy thanked the members for their move, acknowledging that the Serere communities have been very supportive to President Jammeh from 1994 to date. She expressed optimism that the Gambian leader will find the cassettes interesting.
