The Kanteh family and the Senegambian Association of Anchorage regrets to announce the death of Mr Sheriff Mankajang also known as Sheriff Dibba. Born in Pacharr and raised in Brikamaba and Brikama Salanding.

The late Mr. Mankajang used to be the accountant of St Augustine’s Junior Secondary School (Pa Joof) until he came to the U.S in January of 2011. He lived in New York until last July when he moved to Anchorage Alaska where he lived with his cousin Lamin Kanteh also known as Faa. Sheriff died on Friday October 28^th at the Providence Medical Center, where he had been admitted after falling ill a few days prior.

At the request of his family back home, the Kanteh family and the Senegambian association of Anchorage are working hard to send Sheriff’s remains back home. A fund raising drive has already begun and accounts have been established at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union and Wells Fargo bank in Sheriff’s name. The account numbers are as follows:

Donations can also be made by check payable to the Sheriff Mankajang Memorial Fund and mailed to Alaska USA, P.O. Box 196613, Anchorage Alaska, 99519-6613.
